Have you ever been on a listening walk?
Are you curious to know more?? First, listen to the story The Listening Walk below to get the idea of what a listening walk is. Then, go on a listening walk, it can be around your neighbourhood or out into nature. Lastly, you get to be the writer and write and draw about your own listening walk. Remember a writer's job is to capture the details around them. This time you will get to make up fun words to stand for the sounds you heard on your walk. In writing we call these sound words onomatopoeia - now that's a fun word! Have a great listening walk!

Mother's Day is the Sunday, May 10th
Please make a card for Mother's Day. You can make it for your Mom or your Grandma or both, because grandmas are Moms too!
Inside the card you can choose to print off this sheet and fill it out all about your Mom. Click here to print it off. If you don't have a printer you can borrow ideas from some of those sentences or you can use your imagination and write her a poem. Here is a sample in case you get stuck.
My Mom is as sweet as ____________________. (ideas: fluffy cotton candy, peanut butter fudge)
She is as loving as _________________________. (a cuddly panda bear, a big warm hug).
She is as smart/funny/silly as _________________________.
But most of all she is as special as __________________________.
Decorate the front of your card however you like or borrow this idea and add lots of her favorite colours!

Most importantly give your Mom or your Grandma lots of hugs and love on Mother's Day (and being extra helpful around the house wouldn't hurt too!) Have a fun Mother's Day!

May 1st- It's hard to believe that our chicks would have been hatched by now. It's sad we didn't get to raise chicks but that doesn't mean we can't learn all about them on the Internet! Explore this document below and click on the links to try the different activities. Get cracking so you can become an eggs-pert on chicks!
April 29th - Enjoy this Robert Munsch read-aloud from our very own Denyse! If you are stuck for an idea of what to write about today in your Draw and Write book, you can re-tell the story by writing about what happened in the beginning, middle and end of the story. Then draw a picture or three to go along with your writing. Have fun!
Here's a fun movement break idea from Penny! After you've tried it out with your family's names, see if you can think of a simple 3 or 4 letter word to spell and try to get a family member to guess your word by only doing the actions.
April 27th - Jokes from Lily!
Enjoy these cat jokes from Lily. If you are inspired, search for, write or record some of your favorite jokes.
